Say more with less

“I'm sorry I wrote you such a long letter; I didn't have time to write a short one”*

Saying more in fewer words is an act of generosity. In a world full of noise people will appreciate you if you respect their time. You will also get your message across much better.

This takes planning time up front. But it will save you (and others) time + energy in the long run.

5️⃣ ideas to say more with less

🗣️ Start with your audience: what do they want to know? what do you want them to remember?

🗣️Keep it simple and short: complexity confuses, abstraction alienates, length loses

🗣️ Forget the fluff: get to the point, be direct, just say it

🗣️ Start by stopping: stop using long words, stop trying to be clever, stop showing-off

🗣️ Delete, delete, delete: what words can you eliminate before sending?
